Powder Her Face, by Thomas Adès, will premiere at Teatro Leal on 15 and 16 May, in a production of Auditorio de Tenerife. This contemporary opera brings to the stage the scandalous love life and divorce of Margaret, the Duchess of Argyll, in the 1960s. The ensemble LUX:NM will be conducted by Alessandro Palumbo, with stage direction by Nicola Beller Carbone, and sopranos Sally Matthews and Meghan Picerno as the Duchess and her maid, as well as bass Andrew Nolen singing the Duke and Hotel Manager.
